After making a career change at the age of 25 and returning to university to train in horology, Martin founded Charles Martin Watch Company in 2016. What began as a passion for watchmaking has since grown into the largest independent brand-accredited watch repair business in the Midlands.

Martin’s vision has always been to combine traditional craftsmanship with modern service standards, building a workshop trusted by both clients and leading luxury watch brands. Today, he continues to oversee the growth of the business while maintaining the high standards of quality and expertise the company is known for.

Phil began his journey in horology in 1974, attending the College of Jewellery and Silversmithing in Birmingham’s renowned Jewellery Quarter, where he completed his formal training in watchmaking. With over 50 years of experience in the industry, Phil brings an exceptional depth of knowledge and craftsmanship to his work.

For the past decade, Phil has served as a Senior Watchmaker at Charles Martin Watch Company. Throughout his career he has undertaken specialist training both in the UK and in Switzerland, further refining his expertise. Phil is an accredited watchmaker for both Omega and Cartier, reflecting his commitment to the highest standards of precision and care in luxury watch servicing and restoration.

Jason began his career with a degree in Creative Arts Practice, followed by further qualifications in 3D Design. His early career focused on designing, manufacturing, and polishing his own jewellery, developing a strong eye for detail and a deep understanding of fine finishing techniques.

Jason joined Charles Martin Watch Company in 2020 and has since become a key member of the workshop team. Specialising in watch refinishing, he has polished nearly 10,000 watches, restoring cases and bracelets to their original factory finish with exceptional precision and care.

Jack, our technician, joined the team following a career change from the travel industry. His longstanding interest and passion for watches led him to Charles Martin Watch Company, where he now works as Technical Administrator. In this role, he oversees customer service, manages parts ordering, and ensures quality control across our services.

Tom joined Charles Martin Watch Company in 2025 after completing a BA (Hons) Degree in Horology at Birmingham City University. With a strong academic foundation in watchmaking, Tom brings modern technical knowledge and precision to the workshop.

His day-to-day responsibilities include fault diagnostics, preparing service estimates, and servicing both quartz and entry-level mechanical watches, ensuring every timepiece receives careful attention and professional care.
